Guys: Are You Putting Off
Your Checkup?

Are you feeling worried or nervous about the idea of a checkup? These tips may help ease your fears:

  • Know that the doctor sees men every day who face the same health issues you may have, so try not to feel embarrassed.
  • Your doctor’s job is to help you get and stay healthy, not to judge you.
  • You can bring a friend or family member. That person can ask your questions for you.
  • Are you scared of getting a “bad” report? Tell your doctor this at the start of the checkup. He or she can explain what tests will be done.
  • Know that it is always better to find and start fixing health problems early — before they become more serious.
